# SOLAR — Press kit

Press kit · Updated 30 October 2026.

## Short description
SOLAR is an iPhone app for following the Sun, the Moon and the changing daylight. Find sunrise, sunset, golden hour and blue hour, and explore four ways to read time.

## Product overview
SOLAR connects the clock to the sky. Choose a place and a date, move through the day, and see the calculated positions of the Sun and Moon in an illustrated sky. Explore daylight, twilight, lunar phases and the changing solar year. Read Local Time, Solar Time, Seasonal Hours or Byzantine Time, where equal-length hours are counted from sunset. Optional solar-event reminders, widgets, an Apple Watch companion and AR on compatible iPhones bring the day closer. Core solar calculations run on the device. No account or advertising is required.

## New in version 1.2
Three additions for iPhone. Sky: full-sky AR with a light score, the share of the year’s direct sun that reaches your spot under a clear sky. Object shadow: shows where an object’s shadow falls. Aim: point at a landmark to find when the Sun or the Moon lines up with it.
AR needs a compatible iPhone, camera access and location permission. The light score assumes a clear sky; it is not a weather forecast. The 1.2 captures are original, unedited screenshots in the French interface. The light score screen uses built-in example data, not a measurement. The sky is an in-app visualization, not a camera feed.
